LEAD PASTOR – Ben Bauman
Bauman family at Easter 2015
Ben grew up in Dallas and learned to read at Lyle Elementary School. After 4th grade his family moved to a farm outside of Sheridan, Oregon where he went to high school at McMinnville (go Grizzlies!). After graduating from MHS in 1991, he received his undergraduate degree from BBC in 1995 (B.A. in Christian Ministry). Ben is currently pursuing an M.A. in Ministry Leadership through Hope International University. He’s been married to his high school sweetheart Jackie since 1993 and has 2 kids (Emma & Dylan). After 8 years in Tennessee, Ben and the family returned to the west coast and, in 2004, they helped start Common Ground Church in Maple Valley, WA. Three years later, in 2007, God called them to start a new church in Dallas, OR. So once again, they took a leap of faith and moved to Dallas in July and launched Dallas Church with a great team of people on October 21st, 2007 at Whitworth Elementary School.
Ben is a Gen-X’er who loves the NW! In addition to spending time with Jackie and the family, Ben is an avid reader, loves creating music, enjoys great movies, art, the beach and hikes here in the great NW outdoors!
ADMINISTRATIVE MINISTRY COORDINATOR – Stephanie Greer
Stephanie is a mother of four (Brooklyn, Maylee, Koen and Arlo) and a wife to her awesome husband, Ryan. She moved to Oregon from California in 2007 and found Dallas Church in 2010. She immediately started volunteering in areas like Women’s Ministry and Events and hosting a Women’s Small group. In October of 2013 she became a part time office administrator for Dallas Church while running a fulltime Childcare out of her home and raising her Littles. In May of 2015 she transitioned into her current full-time position and is so excited to see where God leads her in this journey.
In her free time you will find her on adventures all around the beautiful Pacific North West with her family and friends. She loves the beach, singing silly songs about everything, rocking out in her minivan, cooking food for anyone who will let her, playing games with friends and avidly copying others peoples amazing ideas off of Pinterest.
MEET OUR SHEPHERD/ELDER –
In addition to our Lead Pastor Ben, Geoff, Jonathan and Byron help to shepherd and guide our church family to continue to fulfill God’s mission of love to our community.
Geoff grew up in Aloha with his mom and two younger brothers, and graduated from Hillsboro High. He
attended the University of Oregon and then George Fox University, graduating with a Communications
degree. In the fall of 1993, the good Lord brought Tina Harris into his life, and they were married the
next summer. They have 2 kids – Nate and Maddy. Nate is a thoughtful, funny, amazing young man,
and part of the reason why is he has mild Autism (diagnosed with Asperger’s at age 5). As a family, the
Guiger’s embrace all that Autism has to offer and have empathy for parents and families living with the
challenge of special needs. Maddy is a fun-loving, creative, faithful young woman with a big heart to
help underprivileged people. The Guiger’s have lived in several places: Newberg, West Salem, Seattle,
and in Dallas since 2009. Geoff is a food sales trader and Tina is an Instructional Assistant with
Willamette ESD. Geoff loves to travel with his family and volunteer at church and in the community
together. He and Tina are avid runners, completing several running team relays and marathons. Geoff
also loves college football, fishing, good books, good beer and extended family adventures.
Jonathan Ellingson grew up in Dallas and studied at Oregon State University. He met Chris while living in Corvallis, and they both became members of Grace Christian Fellowship in Corvallis. After college, both Jonathan and Chris lived in different parts of Los Angeles, and eventually got married in a barn in Oregon in 2005. They both taught high school English in Budapest, Hungary, and then in Saipan. Their son Nikolaj was born in Saipan, and their daughter Coal was born in Salem.
Jonathan is currently an English Teacher at Falls City High School. He is an avid reader, writer, and occasional speaker at Dallas Church. Chris teaches Pilates classes, volunteers in various capacities in the community, and is a part of the Business and MC teams at Dallas Church. Jonathan and Chris both have a passion for stories, travel, food, making things, keeping their kids alive, and laughter. They are honored and excited to be a part of a community in Dallas that seeks God, and is committed to “discovering God’s dream together.”
Byron Perry and his wife Linda enjoy visiting Hawaii.
